LIFE THROUGH SCREENS

A Contemporary Figurative Art Exhibition

26 June – 2 July 2026

Curated by Sarah A

Shades Creative Gallery, Koramangala, Bengaluru

About the Exhibition

For centuries, we looked at the world.

Today, we increasingly experience the world through screens.

We photograph moments before living them. We document journeys before experiencing them. We archive memories before remembering them. We remain connected to thousands of people while often feeling distant from those sitting beside us.

Life Through Screens is a contemporary figurative art exhibition that explores attention, memory, identity and human connection in the digital age.

Rather than questioning technology itself, the exhibition asks a quieter and more personal question:

What remains when the screen goes dark?

Through a series of psychologically driven figurative works, visitors encounter moments that feel deeply familiar—a family sitting together but emotionally elsewhere, a child growing up beneath constant documentation, a couple separated not by distance but by distraction, an individual choosing silence over endless notifications, and a single child who still remembers to look up.

Each artwork is designed not simply to be viewed, but to be experienced as a mirror reflecting our own contemporary lives.

The Artistic Process

Every artwork in Life Through Screens begins as a digitally composed image printed on raw brown kraft paper.

Each print is then transformed through extensive hand intervention using acrylic paint, sketch pens, oil pastels, dry media and expressive mark-making. Layers are added, removed, corrected and rebuilt until the work exists between digital precision and human imperfection.

This original visual language, developed specifically for the exhibition, is called Cognitive Layering.

The exposed kraft paper becomes a metaphor for memory itself—unfinished, vulnerable and continually rewritten.

No two works are identical. Every piece carries visible traces of the artist’s hand, making each artwork a unique original.

Featured Works

The exhibition includes a series of large-scale contemporary figurative works, including:

  • The View Is Real
  • Together, Yet So Far Apart
  • Quiet Mode
  • One More Minute
  • Archive
  • Before I Knew Myself
  • Look Up

Alongside the paintings, visitors will experience immersive installations including SCREEN LIGHT, a wall of glowing blank screens, and FAMILY PORTRAIT, a participatory installation where visitors unknowingly become part of the artwork.

About the Curator

Curated by Sarah A, Life Through Screens brings together psychology, visual storytelling and contemporary figurative art to explore how digital culture has reshaped human relationships, memory and attention.

The exhibition invites viewers to slow down, reflect and rediscover the quiet moments that often disappear beneath constant connection.

April 30th – May 10th, 2026
Shades Creative Gallery, Koramangala, Bangalore

Overview

Colors of Creativity is a curated exhibition of contemporary abstract art, conceived as an exploration of how art interacts with space, material, and light.

This collection brings together a series of original works created using acrylic, oil, and mixed media techniques, where each piece is developed with a strong focus on

composition, texture, and colour harmony derived from the classical colour wheel.

Rather than functioning as decorative elements, these artworks are positioned as integral components of interior architecture—designed to anchor spaces, introduce visual rhythm, and elevate spatial experience.

Curatorial Direction

The exhibition is curated with a clear emphasis on art for interiors—responding to the evolving language of contemporary design in 2026.

Each artwork is thoughtfully composed to complement:

  • Entry foyers and transitional spaces
  • Living rooms and feature walls
  • Luxury residential interiors
  • Boutique and hospitality environments

The collection balances bold, expressive compositions with refined, minimal palettes, enabling designers and homeowners to select works that align seamlessly with their spatial narratives.

Material & Technique

Every artwork in this exhibition is created

using a layered approach that combines:

  • Acrylic and oil painting techniques
  • Palette knife and brushwork textures
  • Fluid and controlled abstraction
  • Mixed media applications for depth and tactility

The use of complementary colour relationships ensures visual balance and sophistication, making each piece adaptable across a range of interior styles—from minimal and contemporary to rich and expressive environments.

For Designers & Collectors

Colors of Creativity is designed as a resource for architects, interior designers, and discerning collectors seeking distinctive, original artworks for curated spaces.

Whether you are sourcing for a project or selecting a statement piece for your home, this exhibition offers:

COUNTLESS WORLDS A WOMAN LIVES IN
A Narrative Exhibition

Presented by Shades Creative Gallery

A woman does not live a single life.

She moves through countless worlds — shaped by expectation, love, resistance, responsibility, dreams, and the quiet rediscovery of herself.

Countless Worlds A Woman Lives In is a narrative exhibition that explores the many emotional, psychological, and social landscapes women navigate throughout their lives. Through surreal and symbolic visual storytelling, the exhibition reflects on the journey of womanhood — from childhood innocence and societal conditioning to personal struggle, resilience, and self-reclamation.

Each artwork becomes a window into the layered realities women inhabit — the worlds they inherit, the worlds they endure, and the worlds they ultimately create.

This Women’s Day, Shades Creative Gallery invites viewers to step into these intimate universes and experience the depth, strength, vulnerability, and imagination that shape the feminine journey.
